Stitched Puppet Studio & A.I.

Stitched Puppet Studio do not use AI, AI generated images or any kind of artificially generated imagery based off prompts within our artwork or projects. We also do not allow the use of any of our images or artwork in the training of AI. We believe that any artistic creation within Stitched Puppet Studio should come from the human beings that have dedicated their time, and in some cases life, to the pursuit of learning the skills required to create these works of art with a combination of their hands (limbs), eyes (senses) and brains. Whether using digital tools to mimic more traditional mediums or actual traditional techniques this is still created, not generated. Though AI can be used as an effective tool in some areas of society it is not one that we wish to employ in-house or in any subcontracted way. In a world where technology is progressing rapidly it is important to explore the human condition (as is the role of most story telling) as a human being and not as a machine or algorithm.

Artificial Intelligence as it is popularised in the modern era (this was written in 2025) is a sensationalist term that doesn’t truly represent the romantic notion of artificial intelligence. It is still a program that draws from a database of information which is in turn outputted based on the bias of the programmers and “trainers” of said Algorithm. If you want to truly learn about AI in the 21st century you can start by reading Superintelligence by Nick Bostrom (one that we have personally read and a good philosophical look at the subject). It’s an interesting field of study and one that we find fascinating. However, it isn’t and should never be a replacement for biologically driven creativity.
